Sloppykisscards.com is a fun animated ecard site where you can create your own ecards featuring your favorite pets to send to and from family, friends and even pets themselves.

Sloppykisscards.com is a niche greeting card site. It should be mentioned before we go any further that the site specializes only in pet ecards (therefore if you're looking for printed cards you won't find them here). What you do get is an animated ecard service for pet lovers; you can choose from over 150 dogs, cats and other pets to customize your card.You can also create cards with 2 pet photos on the cover The idea is that they can be sent to pets, from pets, to owners or from owners, etc. One of the main stumbling blocks is the sense of disappointment when browsing the images available and finding that there isn't an image that closely resembles your pet (e.g. many people own non-thoroghbred dogs). However, there's also the option of uploading your own pet photos and adding these. The catch is that you can't upload your pet's photo and use this to replace the dog or cat that stars in the ecard from the existing gallery of images. The company apologises for this, however, it's quite annoying that you can't feature your own pet and create a truly unique ecard.

If you do find a suitable pet image you can then create your very own ecard with animation and audio, typically involving a vaguely humorous and improbable adventure (unless your pet can really drive a car or captain a sailboat). Cards aren't purchased on a one-off basis; instead, you have to become a member of the site. They aren't too upfront about this and let you go ahead and create your card before informing you. If you do sign up, you get your first month free, followed by an annual fee of $13.95. Part of your fee is donated to Petfinder.com, helping rehome animals; how much of your fee goes towards this is not disclosed. You then get to send unlimited ecards for a whole year.

There are few other features to speak of other than the animated ecards. However, if you are employed in the pet business (e.g. as a vet) Sloppykisscards.com offers a business service whereby personalized cards can be generated and sent to customers with the client's pet's breed and name. However, for most customers this aspect of the company's services won't be relevant (see site for more details). However, you might be interested to know that you can purchase an annual membership as a gift for a friend. Whilst this sounds very cheap for 12 months membership, you need to ask whether you (or whoever the membership is intended for) will actually get that much use from the site. The range of ecard designs available is limited and I would suggest that your money might be better spent elsewhere (unless you imagine that you will send lots of similar ecards to pets and pet lovers). 

Once you've created and sent your ecard, it should be in the recipient's inbox within just a few minutes. At times of high traffic it might take as long as 30 minutes. However, you'll receive an email confirmation when your ecard has been sent. In case you have any questions, there's a list of FAQs that can be accessed from the bottom of the homepage. If the FAQs section doesn't resolve your query, you can submit a question by completing an email form. There is no phone assistance available on this site; as the wording on the site explains, there aren't the resources to respond to phone enquiries. Nontheless, they promise that someone will get back to you as soon as possible once you have emailed your query.

In summary, Sloppykisscards.com offers a unique and original ecard greeting site which, whilst being something of a novely, doesn't really have the features and choice to have you coming back time and again. Nice idea though!
