Egreetings.com is a fun, free and easy to use site, enabling you to send a wide range of different e-cards to family, friends and loved ones. The premise is simple; pick your card, write your message and give the email address of the person you want to send the e-card to, then off it goes. There's no need to register with the site.
Selecting a card is easy. On the left-hand side of the homepage is a list of headings that link to the different kinds of e-greeting cards available. You can choose from birthday wishes, holiday greetings and other special occasions, as well as everyday greeting e-cards. You can filter your selection further by recipient (e.g. brother, aunt) or tone (e.g. funny, traditional). Whilst there are plenty of birthday e-cards to choose from (well over a hundred) these are mostly general and so the choice may be fairly limited if you are looking for a card for a specific recipient (e.g. brother, aunty or cousin). Likewise, the choice may be limited in other categories too, however, you should still be able to find a card for the occasion, even if the choice is limited. The only other minor annoyance is the nature of the advertising on the site; sometimes you have to wait for an advertisment film to play before your e-card is uploaded.
It's really simple to send an e-card. The most difficult part is choosing. Once you've selected the card that you want to send, simply click on your selection and the card is displayed (including the animation and audio effects). You then have three options; you can confirm and send the card, share the card via Facebook, or discard your choice and continue browsing. To send the card you first of all need to personalize it. This takes just a minute or two and involves entering your name and email address, followed by the email address(es) of the recipient(s), making it possible to send the card to more than one email address. You can then type your greeting message and customize the basic appearance of your message by changing the colour, font, style and size of the text. If you get a little stuck, you can browse suggested messages based upon the e-card you are sending. One nice feature here is that you can select a delivery date up to a year in advance, which means that you can create a card ahead of time. It's then possible to preview the card or just send it (it's advisable to always preview). The recipient then receives an email alert and by clicking on a link gets to see the card you sent. You also receive an acknowledgement when the e-card is picked up.
If you want to go a little further, you can use a webcam or upload a photo of yourself to add to your card for that extra special touch. You can also send 'virtual gifts' via email or share on Facebook. You can select from over twenty non-animated images (including flowers, puppies, heart-shaped boxes of candy and other syrupy visual concoctions), write your message and send in the same way as an e-card. You can also download apps to your Android or i-Phone device in order to get birthday reminders and send cards using your cellphone. Subsidiary features allow you to follow Egreetings.com on Facebook or Twitter.
Given that it's a free site, Egreetings.com offers an impressive range of features including animated designs which, surprisingly, you don't have to pay for. Whilst the range of cards available may not be as extensive as other sites, you're sure to find it useful.
